09/09/09 is the internationally auspicious day when dtac opens its new “dtac house” in Chamchuree Square building to welcome the press, VIPs and partners officially for the first time after having its 3,200 staff members bid farewell to Chai building and many other buildings and leading them to the dtac house in Chamchuree Square building on Phaya Thai road on June 29, 2009.
The decision to gather staff members from 6 buildings to be under the same roof at the dtac house is in line with the “dtac way” that acknowledges the importance of being a strong organization in which all members share the same goals, have positive attitudes and are ready to adapt to the ever-changing world. Besides, there are quite many limitations in the old buildings when it comes to future business expansion.
dtac had used Chai building as its stronghold since 1999 and had rented space in many other buildings in Bangkok. Then it employed a workforce of only 700. Ten years later, in 2008, the number of dtac people grew to nearly 6,000. It was difficult for dtac to cope with fierce competition nowadays due to many limitations including limited space, coordination among units that were located far apart from one another, transport among those buildings and gatherings for activities of the organization.
Therefore, in 2008, or just a year ago, dtac started its project to relocate its headquarters and many offices that were scattered in different buildings to Chamchuree Square building for 5 main reasons.

Enhance dtac Creativity Office space will no longer limit the work of dtac people. All over the office of the dtac house, Wi-Fi signals and facilities are available and thus enable staff members to sit and work anywhere. They need not stay only at their desks but can carry their laptops to work in any area within the office. The Most Efficiency Investment in Southeast Asia dtac opted to look for its new house when the economy had yet to recover, so it received the best quotations and conditions from contractors. During the recession of the construction sector, contractors did their best in spending their time and exploiting their human resources to realize the dtac house. Consequently, the new headquarters project was completed very quickly and required the lowest decoration cost among offices of the same class in Southeast Asia. The decoration cost about 450 million baht, or only 7,357 baht per square meter, and over 80% of decoration materials were locally made.
dtac house is located on the 22nd – 41st floors of Chamchuree Square building and has 61,160 square meters of usable space. 1. Play & Learn The Common Floors are open for all staff members to meet and party. There are areas where they can have small meetings, receive guests, and have coffees, juices and ice cream.
